Sources come first
Every factual claim on Norshroom is tied to a numbered source listed at the bottom of the page. We prefer, in this order:
- Primary documents: statutes, bill text, ballot measures, court opinions and agency rules.
- Official agency pages, such as state health departments and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
- Peer-reviewed research, cited by journal, year and DOI or PubMed record.
- Company announcements, used only for what a company says about its own trials, and labeled as such.
- Reporting by established news outlets, used for context and for events that have no primary document yet.
We don't cite retailers, forums or social media posts as evidence for factual claims.
Keeping the legal map current
The state-by-state map is checked against current law at least once a month and whenever a bill is signed, a ballot measure passes or a court rules. Each state guide shows the date it was last checked. When a status changes, we update the map and publish a short news item explaining what changed.
How we write about research
We report what a study measured, how many people took part, whether there was a control group and what it found, including results that disappointed. A small open-label study and a large placebo-controlled trial aren't equal evidence, and we say which is which. Company press releases about unpublished data are labeled as company-reported until the full results are peer reviewed.
Safety and dosing
We explain risks, interactions and warning signs, and we link to emergency and peer-support services. We don't publish dosing instructions or protocols. Readers who want practical harm-reduction guidance should use services built for it, such as DanceSafe and TripSit.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it and note the correction at the bottom of the page with the date. Send corrections through our contact page and include a link to the source that shows the error.
Ownership
Norshroom shares ownership with an online psilocybin retailer. The details are on our about page.
